LIONS/WIG FLETCHER COMMUNITY SERVICE VOLUNTEER AWARD

The Downtown San Diego Lions Club very proudly sponsors the San Diego Lions Club Community Service Award. Each year we seek to honor a living individual who has demonstrated a history of repeated, long-lasting, and extraordinary service in the City of San Diego with his or her philanthropic activities. The recipient receives the Wig Fletcher Trophy, which is named after just such a person, Willis "Wig" Fletcher, a guiding light of philanthropy in this city and a member of this Lions Club from 1939 until his death in 2000.

Do you know such a person?

The nominee who is selected will be presented with a $5,000.00 check payable to the 501 (c) 3 local San Diego charity of their choice. This person and his or her family will be honored at a Tuesday general club luncheon meeting to be held early in the spring.

We ask that local San Diego philanthropic organizations consider someone they feel fits the above criteria and who should be so honored. Please fill out the questionnaire and return it no later than January 31, 2009 to the
